Allianz GAA National Hurling League

Kilkenny 1-17   Offaly 0-12

Kilkenny’s Allianz NHL campaign got off to a winning start against Offaly in Nowlan Park. Playing against the breeze Kilkenny had the better of the first half leading at the interval by 0-10 to 0-7 thanks mainly to the accuracy of Richie Power from six pointed  frees, a pointed 65’ and a point from play. Unfortunately Richie’s participation finished just before half time when he received a knock to the head/neck area and had to be removed from the field by ambulance. Kilkenny’s other scorers in this half were PJ Delaney and Michael Rice. The second half saw Kilkenny become more dominant and a goal from Aidan Fogarty set Kilkenny on their way to victory.
