President Christy Cooney opens Slieverues Hurling Wall & Astro Turf Facilities

On Sunday evening Slieverue GAA Club and their community celebrated one of the
clubs greatest achievements in one hundered and twenty six years when they opened

a state of the art Hurling Wall and Floodlit Astro Turf pitch.

The occasion recalled the generations of volunteers and players Allianz GAA NHL Kilkenny 1-20  Waterford  2-12

A strong first half helped Kilkenny to a win over neighbours Waterford in their final League game of 2010, in front of 6,237 spectators in Nowlan Park. John Mullane was Waterford's only scorer in the first half as Kilkenny led by 1-10 to 0-02 at half-time, with Michael Grace scoring Kilkenny’s goal..  Kilkenny continued to impress during the second half and while an Eoin Kelly goal from a penalty and another major score from Kevin Moran reduced Kilkenny’s lead to just three points late scores from Richie Hogan and Eoin Guinan ensured a Kilkenny win.

Kilkenny team and scorers P.J. Ryan, Michael Kavanagh, Noel Hickey, Jackie Tyrrell, John Tennyson, Brian Hogan, J.J. Delaney, James ‘Cha’ Fitzpatrick 0-1, Derek Lyng, T.J. Reid 0-5, Eddie Brennan. Richie Hogan 0-3 frees and 0-1 65’, Michael Grace 1-2, Eoin Larkin 0-1, Eoin Guinan 0-5 (0-1free). Sub Paddy Hogan 0-1
