County Footballers face Carlow in O'Byrne Cup Carlow provide the opposition in the O'Byrne Cup in Dr. Cullen Park on Sunday next at 2pm. The first of the seasons competitive games under team manager Tom Brennan, the side have their second outing in the competition on the following weekend and make their Allianz National football League debut at home to Tipperary on Sat. February 2nd 2008
Successful County Football Convention 02-05-2008 At the well attended County Football Convention delegates reflected on the positive return of the County to the National Football League after a nine year break and the work being done with the County Junior, Under 21 and Minor Panels. The attendance which included Senior County Board Officials, Club delegates and the trainers and mentors of the county teams discussed all aspects of the promotion of the game at County and Club level. Among the items focused on were Fixtures Dates and the extension of Text messaging as a means of communication to all levels. Officers elected on the night were outgoing Chairman and Secretary Tom Duggan and Tom O'Reilly. The position of Vice Chairman was filled by John McGrath of the St. Patricks Club.
