Over 60 Senior Citizens will visit Nowlan Park to mark World Senior Citizens Day on Wednesday 21st of August. The day will start at 2 pm and following a welcoming greeting by Jimmy Walsh, County Chairman, they will have a walking tour of Nowlan Park taking in the meeting rooms, photographs, dressing rooms and gym, the pitch and the press box. This will be followed by refreshments and a talk on chair based exercises. This event has been organised by the health and well-being committee as a social inclusion initiative and it is the first time for the event to take place. On the day the guests will be spoken to by Jimmy Walsh, John Coogan, Eoin Larkin and Seamus Reade.read more

Sunday proved a difficult day for both the Kilkenny minor and senior teams in their respective All-Ireland Finals. The minor game against Galway finished on a scoreline 3-14 to 0-12. For full match report click here

Great credit must go to both panels, backroom staff and managements for the enjoyment they have provided for us throughout this year. As the 2019 inter-county season draws to a close the focus now moves back towards our local championships which will resume in two weeks time.read more

Kilkenny GAA was saddened to learn that Billy Purcell (former Kilkenny and Fenian player) passed away on Wednesday. We extend our sympathies to his Wife Annette, sons and extended family. For funeral details click below.
The Kilkenny Supporters Club wagon will be at Nowlan Park on Thursday and Friday from 11am. Items on sale include Jerseys, Polo's, Mugs, Scarf's, Togs, Socks and Flags. There is also the option to join the supporters club each day or online here. Membership is €20 and all proceeds go to the All-Ireland training fund.
Banquet tickets are selling fast, a limited number are still available and can be booked from Jim Freeman at the wagon in Nowlan Park or on 087 - 2551507, Cost €60.
We wish all our supporters a safe journey to Dublin on Sunday please allow plenty of time for travel and to give our minors the support they deserve from 1pm, with the Seniors out at 3.30pm. We also hope to see as many as possible back in Citywest on Sunday night and/or in Kilkenny from 6pm on Monday to cheer on the lads.

As we enter the week of the All-Ireland the last major event ahead of the final will be the 'Drive for Liam' quiz which as in previous years will be broadcast on KCLR to the forty-one centres throughout the county, plus one centre in Dublin. The quiz will start at 8.30pm sharp, please be at the venues and ready to go. A table of 4 costs €20. This is a wonderful oppertunity for all members of the GAA community to come together and prepare for the big day.

A busy few days culminated on Sunday with the JJ Kavanagh & Sons Intermediate and Senior Football finals in Nowlan Park with Mooncoin claiming the Intermediate title after running out 2-8 to 0-5 winners over Erins Own, while Mullinavat completed three in a row in the Senior with a 1-13 to 0-10 win against Railyard.
On Friday St Lachtains were one point winners over Barrow Rangers in the JJ Kavanagh & Sons Junior B Hurling League Final. Meanwhile Bennettsbridge were one point winners over Danesfort in the Iverk Produce Junior C league final and James Stephens claimed the Junior D league title with a 4-14 to 2-14 victory over Graignamanagh. Friday also saw Clara run out 1-19 to 0-15 winners over Dicksboro in the St Canice's Credit Union Division 1 final.
