Kilkenny v Cork
The Intermediates become the first Kilkenny county hurling team to step into an All Ireland final this year when they take on Cork in the final in Dungarvan on Saturday at 3.30pm. Pat Hoban’s side will have it all to do as being defending champions Kilkenny feature a completely new panel from last year. They meet a very strong Cork side which played very impressively in disposing of Waterford in the Munster final. However the black and amber Intermediates have shown great heart and battling qualities in retaining the Leinster title defeating Wexford and Dublin to do so and will no doubt continue to do the same on Saturday. Many supporters will remember the exciting game the last time Kilkenny and Cork met in the Intermediate final in 2006, a game the Munster side edged after extra time.
