Mullinavat Are Senior Football Champions
Mullinavat 3-12 Railyard 2-5
Mullinavat ran out deserving winners in the 125th Kilkenny Football Final sponsored by J J Kavanagh and Sons. The game was played in ideal conditions in Nowlan Park on Saturday evening. Free flowing Mullinavat built up an 11 point lead by half time (2-6 to 0-1) but, like true champions, the Railyard roared back in the 3rd quarter and reduced the lead to just 3 points mid way through the half. Mullinavat steadied the ship however and a John Walsh goal 10 minutes from time proved decisive.
