The Kilkenny minors lost to Galway in the All-Ireland Minor Hurling Final on a scoreline of 0-21 to 0-14. Kilkenny started the stronger and led at half time by a point, the score 0-10 to 0-9. The second half saw Galway grab a hold of the game and a run of unanswered points in the closing quarter ensured Galway would claim the minor title for 2018.

Kilkenny GAA will host a post-match dinner following the All-Ireland Minor Final next Sunday Aug 19th. The event will take place in Langtons on Sunday Aug 19th at 9pm. Tickets are €25, special U-14 menu €10. Tickets are available from Nowlan Park on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week from 10am - 2pm. The office will not be open on Friday.
The All-Ireland Minor Final Vs Galway will preceed the All-Ireland Senior Final on Sunday in Croke Park. The minor game has a throw-in of 1pm.
The Kilkenny minors overcame a late Tipperary comeback to claim an All-Ireland final berth against Galway on August 19th. Kilkenny started the brightest with points from Jack Buggy, Jack Morrissey and a goal from Ciarán Brennan. Kilkenny ended the first half 1-7 to 0-4 ahead. The pattern was continued on the restart, but in the 42nd minute Tipperary claimed the first of their two goals to the force a mini-comeback, that comeback was strenghted further on the 55th minute when Tipperary claimed a second goal, the score now 1-13 to 2-8 in Kilkenny's favour. Kilkenny however had done enough and claimed the All-Ireland Final spot on a final score of 1-15 to 2-10.

A goal before half time and five unanswered points at the start of the second half has put the Kilkenny minors into an All-Ireland semi-final against Tipperary next Sunday in Croke Park at 1.30pm. The first half saw both teams trade points in what was a very even affair until the 24th minute when Kilkenny opened up a three point lead followed by a goal on the cusp of half time to go in six points ahead at the break. Kilkenny's performance in the second half went up a few gears and a strong showing, outscoring Limerick 2-11 to 1-4 in the second half ensured a Croke Park outing next weekend. The final score Kilkenny 3-22 Limerick 1-12.
