Kilkenny Minors Pipped at the Post

Monday, 07 August 2017 at 7PM

Galway 1-12 Kilkenny 2-8.

Galway lead Kilkenny just twice in this game. Jack Canning scored after just 47 seconds into the first half and sub Enda Fahy got the winning point in the 4th minute of additional time. In between Kilkenny were never behind but were hanging on to their lead as the game entered the final stages. Galway captain Darren Morrissey had a "man of the Match" performance man marking Kilkenny captain Adrian Mullen and the Kilkenny attack could just not muster enough scores, particularly in the second half, to secure victory. However, no one could fault the effort of all the players in sometimes difficult conditions in Croke Park.
