Leinster Championship Hotting Up

Wednesday, 13 May 2015 at 10PM

Although Kilkenny will not enter the fray until the semi-final stage on June 21st the Leinster Championship Round Robin group is at a crucial stage following completion of two of the three rounds. The final round takes place this coming Sunday after which stage the remaining rounds will be much clearer. Westmeath are in pole position to qualify with full points following wins over Carlow and Antrim. Laois also have a win over Carlow but the concession of a last minute penalty in their game against Antrim may prove crucial. Laois entertain Westmeath in O Moore Park next Sunday and a win for them is critical if they wish to entertain any hopes of progressing. Carlow, who are pointless in the competition, welcome Antrim to Netwatch Cullen Park and a win for them and a Westmeath win would see three teams on two points behind Westmeath with scoring difference coming into play. Offaly await the group winners in one quarter-final while Wexford will meet the runners up. Dublin and Galway complete the quarter-final line-up with the winners here meeting the winners of the Offaly QF. Kilkenny meet the winners of the Wexford QF. Kilkenny Teams to Play in Leinster Finals Announced

Friday, 04 July 2014 at 8PM

The Kilkenny Minor and Senior Teams to play Dublin in the Leinster Hurling Finals in Croke Park were announced after training sessions in Kilkenny this evening.

The Senior Team sees three changes from the side that defeated Galway in the semi-final replay. David Herity replaces Eoin Murphy on goal but the good news for Kilkenny is that Eoin has made a good recovery from injury and takes his place on the subs bench. Walter Walsh replaces Tommy Walsh and John Power replaces Aidan Fogarty.

Meanwhile the Kilkenny Minor panel were dealt a blow this week when Ballyhale's Darren Mullen suffered a bad knee injury. His place on the team has been filled by Pat Lyng of the Rower Inistioge.
