Kilkenny come up short in Salthill

Monday, 28 May 2018 at 3PM

Kilkenny's recent run of wins came to a halt in Salthill on Sunday when Brian Cody's charges came up against a determined Galway outfit.  Kilkenny were against the breeze in the first half and were behind by 4 points at half-time when the scoreline was 1-5 to 1-9.   Little changed in the second half, Kilkenny failed to close the gap and by the time Fergal Horgan blew the final whistle the scorline read 1-22 to 2-11 in Galway's favour, the final quarter proving very testing for Kilkenny.   All this means the game Vs Wexford on June 9th will be a crucial one, which will surley attract a massive crowd to Nowlan Park at 7pm on that night.

Kilkenny claim Two Points

Sunday, 20 May 2018 at 7PM

Kilkenny have claimed another win in the Leinster Championship, making it two from two in the opening games of the season.  Today's victory saw Kilkenny overcome a resilient Offaly on a scoreline of 2-19 to 1-13.  Offaly led in the games opening stages, but Kilkenny moved ahead as half-time approached and finished the half six points ahead on a scoreline of 1-10 to 0-7 at half-time.   After the restart Kilkenny played well for most of the half but a late surge from Offaly forced Kilkenny to work hard all the way to the final whistle eventually running out nine point winners.  Up next is Galway in Pearse stadium next Sunday at 4pm, this promises to be a hotly-contested affair for both sides.
