Following Monday's County Board meeting Kilkenny GAA is delighted to announce a 10 year sponsorship agreement with UPMC, a world-renowned healthcare provider and insurer that has been caring for patients in the South East for over a decade. Nowlan Park, home to Kilkenny GAA is to be renamed UPMC Nowlan Park under the agreement.

Following all this weekends action, the battle for the Junior, Intermediate and Senior titles is alot clearer. In the St Canice's Credit Union Senior Championship O'Loughlin Gaels overcame Mullinavat on Saturday running out 1-14 to 0-13 winners securing a spot in the second senior semi-final next weekend against Ballyhale Shamrocks who themselves overcame the challenge of Clara on Sunday in Danesfort, the final score in that game was 1-19 to 0-17. This semi-final will be played next weekend and the final is fixed for Sunday Oct 27th.
On Saturday in the Michael Lyng Motors Hyundai Intermediate Championship Tullaroan overcame Young Irelands on a scoreline of 2-17 to 2-15 to secure a final berth while St Lachtain's came up short against Thomastown, that game finishing 1-21 to 1-10. Both Tullaroan and Thomastown now have their sights fixed on the final which is down for decision on Sunday Oct 27th.
In the JJ Kavanagh & Sons Junior Championship, Conahy Shamrocks were awaiting the winners of Barrow Rangers and O'Loughlin Gaels and it was O'Loughlin Gaels who secured the win in Nowlan Park on Sunday to claim the county final spot, the final score in this game was 4-12 to 1-20.

On Friday 18th October St Martins will host a race night in the Cave Bar with its primary aim to help the development of players in the club. On the night there will be a number of races led by the very able John Mackey with a number of races including the race of legends that will see many infamous local people put their names forward for auction all in aid of a good cause.

With an action packed weekend on the horizon, tickets for Saturday and Sundays games in Nowlan Park can be pre-purchased in participating Centra and Supervalu stores - Adults €15. Students and OAP tickets can be purcahsed on the ground at the day only. Both of the Michael Lyng Motors Hyundai Intermediate Championship S/F's are down for decision on Saturday with a 2.15pm and 4.15pm throw-ins respectively. Sunday sees the first of the JJ Kavanagh and Sons Junior S/F's at 2pm and the first of the St Canice’s Credit Union S/F's at 4pm, James Stephens Vs Erin's Own.
In Bennettsbridge on Saturday at 12.15pm O'Loughlin Gaels will square off again against Mullinavat to secure a S/F spot while on Sunday at 12pm Ballyhale Shamrocks and Clara will battle it out for the last remaining S/F spot.
