Wexford claimed a spot in the Walsh Cup final on Sunday having overcome Kilkenny in the opening game of 2019. Bellefield, Enniscorthy was the venue for Sunday's game and little seperated the teams in the opening half, Kilkenny entered the dressing room a point to the good at half-time. On the restart Wexford began to take charge and pushed ahead, three points the difference on a few occasions and ultimately that was the difference when the referee John Keenan blew the full-time whistle, the scoreboard reading 0-16 to 0-13 in favour of the Slaneysiders. They will now face Galway in the final next weekend.

The Kilkenny team to play Wexford in the Walsh Cup S/F tomorrow has been named. The game has a throw-in of 2pm in Bellefield, Enniscorthy.
Kilkenny will kick off the 2019 season with a Walsh Cup semi-final against Wexford, the team who claimed the Walsh Cup title over them last season. The game is fixed for Bellefield, Enniscorthy this Sunday January 13th at 2pm. We wish Brian, his managment team and players all the best in the season ahead.
After 90 minutes of intense hurling, it took a shoot out from the '65 to seperate Kilkenny and Wexford in the Walsh Cup Final. Wexford claimed the Cup ultimately but both sides can be happy with the intensity shown.
