O’Loughlin Gaels (Kilkenny) 1-6 Wolfe Tones (Clare) 0-2
O’Loughlin Gaels added a Féile Peil na nÓg title to the Division 1 hurling title they won last weekend when they defeated Wolfe Tones of Shannon, Co. Clare in the Division 5 Final of Féile Peil na nÓg in Cork.
In a very exciting and skilful game with both defenses dominant, scores were scarce in the opening half at the end of which O’Loughlin’s led by a single point, 0-2 to 0-1.
Robbie Buckley was outstanding for O’Loughlin Gaels, winning and converting a penalty early in the second-half. This proved top be the crucial score as O’Loughlin Gaels made history becoming the first Kilkenny Club to pull off this Féile hurling and football double in the same year.
