Kilkenny star Henry Shefflin has been chosen by the GAA to carry the Olympic torch when it comes to Ireland on June 6th. The first leg of the most famous flame in world sport’s relay visit to Dublin will take place in Croke Park and Henry will carry the torch across the roof of the Hogan Stand. Speaking of the GAA’s selection of Henry Shefflin for this honour the Olympic Council of Irelnd in a statement said ‘Henry is the perfect representative, not only an iconic Irish sportsman but a wonderful role model’.
