Following the excitement of the great win on Sunday, preparations for the All Ireland moves into full swing almost immediately. Kilkenny GAA and Supporters Club embark on a very busy schedule with two important events in the coming week or so.
First up is the repeat of last year’s highly successful “Drive for Liam” Radio Quiz in association with KCLR 96FM and Kilkenny Vintners. Coming to a venue near you each Club in the County will be organising centres to host the popular quiz. Team of 4 costs €20 or a mere €5 per person. It is the opportunity for the ordinary fan to get behind this superb bunch of players and also links every parish in the county in the build-up to the All –Ireland. The Quiz will go out live on Radio on Thursday week next August 30th from 9pm sharp. And the Prizes – Winning Team will receive 8 All Ireland Stand Tickets + 8 Tickets to Post Match Banquet at City West + 4 Rooms on the Sunday night at City West. 2nd Prize will consist of 4 All Ireland Stand Tickets + 4 Banquet Tickets whilst 3rd Prize will consist of 4 Banquet Tickets. The second major event is the Pre All Ireland Dinner at Langtons Hotel on Sunday Night 2nd September. Live music will be played between 8 and 9 followed by a 4 course dinner with wine. Details of guest speaker will be announced shortly and the highlight of the evening will be an interview with Brian Cody a mere week before All Ireland Day. Table of 10 will cost €500.
