After an illustrious Inter County career Dunnamaggin’s Noel Hickey has decided to call it a day with his beloved Kilkenny. Noel joined the panel in 2000 and his arrival coincided with a golden era for Kilkenny hurling. He made an immediate impact in his first year being named “Young Hurler of the Year” in 2000. He stands among an elite group of holders with 9 Senior All Ireland Medals. He also has 11 Leinster Senior Championship Medals, 6 National League Medals and 3 All Stars. Besides his own impressive performances over the years Noel has played a vital role in blooding new arrivals into the Kilkenny rearguard. He is hugely popular on and off the field and we look forward to seeing him continue on the edge of the square with his beloved Dunnamaggin in the years ahead.
