The latest “œKilkenny GAA Bible” of results is launched online

Entering a quiet few weeks on the games front, it gives the local GAA fan a chance to reflect on the recent Allianz Hurling League success and the progress of the St. Canices Credit Union, Michael Lyng, JJ Kavanagh Senior, Intermediate and Junior Hurling league games, with a view to how the championships will go when the games resume in a few weeks. To assist, the latest version of the “Kilkenny GAA Bible” of results has been added to the resources section of this website. Now an online production, it is a “must browse” for Kilkenny followers across the world.  Compiled by its editor and statistician Gerry O’Neill it comes with many gems of information spread over 158 pages stretching back to 1887. Added to the latest production is all of the County Finals results played up to April this year, along with the (11) venues of the Senior Hurling Finals that were played before Nowlan Park was opened in 1928. To check the list that included some outside the county visit pages 3 and 4. At intercounty level did you know Kilkenny had won six Senior Provincial titles in Hurling and two in Football by 1900, that included dual titles on two occasions in? To see who was the last Kilkenny side to win a Féile title on the field of play check page 134!. The answer and thousands more are all there thanks to Gerry who has produced the most recently updated County GAA records in the country. The index includes all the Hurling, Camogie, Football, Handball, Ladies Football details from adult to Primary Schools level, along with Teams, Rolls of Honour, All Stars, Officers, Referees and even the Club Crests.
