Leinster U-14 Feile 2013.
A core aim of the Leinster Féile is to promote a philosophy whereby every player has the opportunity to participate and play in their respective games at a level commensurate to their age, skills and strengths. This is an opportunity for clubs from different counties to play against each other in a structured and organised format, with the emphasis being on participation and enjoyment.
Participation in Leinster Feile.
The Leinster Football feile will be hosted by Meath on the 29th June 2013. The Leinster Hurling Feile will be hosted by Kilkenny on the 6th July 2013.
All u-14 Teams are welcome to participate in the Leinster Feile. Participating teams shall be 15-a-side (unless, otherwise agreed by both clubs on the day), comprising of players who are over 10 and under 14 years of age on 1st January 1999.
Code of Behaviour
All participating players and those attending the Leinster Féile are obliged to adhere to and implement the Code of Behaviour when working with underage players.
Panel of Players
The number of players per panel is unlimited.
General Rules
Gaelic Football and Hurling games shall be played in accordance with the rules of the GAA as outlined in the GAA Official Guide 2012.
Composition of Teams and Playing Time
All Games shall be played on a 15-a-side basis (unless otherwise agreed by both teams on the day), over 15 minutes per half on a full sized pitch. Unlimited substitution will be allowed throughout the day. Each team will play a minimum of three games, (with no finals).
Team Colours
All teams shall wear their official club colours. If there is a clash of colours, the
host team will change. If both teams are visiting, both teams will change, (or one club only, by agreement).
Gradings
Every effort will made at Provincial level to ensure teams are in a position to get meaningful games. If however it is obvious that the game is one sided team mentors should endeavour to balance the teams at the earliest opportunity.
Feile Guidelines
- The Feile will be run on a one day blitz format with all teams getting the same number of games.
- Each venue will be a self-contained blitz.
- There will be no medals or trophies for any of the festivals.
- It will open to all clubs no matter what division they play in their own county.
- Each venue in a county will cater for clubs from outside their own county where possible.
- In relation to the events themselves the host counties will be responsible for sourcing referees for each of the festival venues as well as the organisation of each of the venues on the day.
- All Host Clubs are expected to have their pitches lined and flagged.
- Host Clubs to provide refreshments (tea sandwiches biscuits) to visiting teams.
Give Respect – Get Respect
All participating teams shall adhere to the Respect initiative, Give Respect – Get Respect. This Respect initiative seeks to ensure that at a very minimum our Gaelic Games are promoted and played in a positive, fair and enjoyable manner where players, coaches, spectators and referees Give Respect and Get Respect from each other.
The following shall be implemented in promoting and supporting the Respect initiative:
- The host Club will welcome each team, officials, referees and spectators to their venue
- All players shall as a condition of participation undertake to play by the rules and take responsibility for their own behaviour whilst always respecting their opponents, referees and official
- Players will line up at the centre of the field before each game and will shake hands with all members of the opposing team, their coaches and the referee
- Each player shall shake hands with their immediate opponents before and after each game
20pm –Fenians v Emeralds.
