On Sunday next, the Kilkenny All Ireland Team of 1963, will be guests of honour at the Senior County Final and will be introduced to the crowd at half time in the senior game. The team defeated Waterford 4-17 to 6-8 in front of a record crowd of over 73000 in Croke Park. It was Kilkenny’s 15th All Ireland title and only the third since 1939. The team was back-boned by the legendary Bennettsbridge team of the 60’s and in a week that saw The Rower Inistioge return to senior ranks it is fiiting that two of their legends Eddie Keher and Fr Tom Murphy are also honoured. A special 24 page souvenir brochure has been produced and will be on sale in Nowlan Park for €3. The team and their partners will be guests of Springhill Court Hotel for a meal after the game.
