Scór is a GAA competition designed to bring together the rivalry of Gaelic Games with the social/fun element of Ireland’s traditional past-times. It was established in 1969 with the aim of promoting these traditional past-times in the winter months, offering club members the chance to come together in a traditional environment.
The participation rate of Kilkenny Clubs in Scór has fallen to extremely low levels in recent years and this decline must be arrested. This year an opportunity to re-establish the connection between clubs and the Scór competition is being offered. A new committee has been established by the county board to assist in this task. We would like all clubs to provide details of their nominated Irish Officer by return to ‘irishculturalofficer.kilkenny@gaa.ie’ or to Nowlan Park as soon as possible.
