Team to Play Clare Announced

Supporters are reminded that they can purchase tickets to the game at a cost of €10, a €5 discount on match day admission prices. Tickets are available at the usual Supervalu and Centra outlets right throughout the county tomorrow Saturday.

The Kilkenny team to play Clare in the opening round of the Allianz National Hurling League in Ennis on Sunday has been announced. Following on from the successful Walsh Cup campaign Brian Cody and his selectors continue to give game time to some promising newcomers whilst, at the same time, bolstering the team with some experienced players. Michael Walsh and Brian Kennedy, along with Conor Fogarty, man the full back line while Joey Holden and Paul Murphy flank Clara’s Lester Ryan in the half back line. Cillian Buckley has his first outing partnering Padraig Walsh at midfield whilst the half forward line of Henry Shefflin, Colin Fennelly and Eoin Larkin is sure to be a popular selection to all travelling to Cusack Park. Kilkenny supporters will also welcome the retention of Jonjo Farrell and Mark Kelly in the full forward line where they will be joined by Walter Walsh for his first outing of the season.
