All in Kilkenny GAA send their heartiest congratulations to James Stephens on the official opening of their new complex on the Kells Road. Despite the very inclement weather a huge crowd was present to see Uachtarán CLG Liam O Neill perform the official opening. Kilkenny and Clare then served up a very entertaining 70 minutes hurling and it is unlikely that either team will play on a better surface this year than the carpet like pitch on the Kells Road.Kilkenny won the challenge 2-18 to 1-17 with both managers using the bench particularly in the second half.
