Novel Pairings in Junior Semi-Finals

This weekend sees the first of the semi-finals in the local championship. O’Loughlin Gaels, winners of Section B last weekend in the J J Kavanagh and Sons Junior Championship, take on Piltown in the first game on Sunday at Nowlan Park. Piltown have not been involved in this stage of the championship since 2011 and will hope to make it to the final ahead of O’Loughlin Gaels second team.

The second semi-final sees John Lockes taking on surprise packet Slieverue. John Lockes will want to put the disappointment of last years showing in the final against Mooncoin behind them while Slieverue, who accounted for a fancied Emeralds side last weekend, have not featured at this stage of the competition for a long number of years.

Throw in for the first gameis 2.45pm. Admission to the double header will be €10 for adults and €5 for pensioners/students. Under 16’s are free.
