Regional Club Squad Session in Thomastown GAA
On Wednesday night in a well appointed Thomastown GAA an U15 “Regional Club Squad” session took place under the watchful eyes of Kilkenny GDA’s PJ Ryan and Sean Kelly. The sessions are planned to give an extra evenings hurling to players who are performing very well for their club/school, with an additional bonus for players who perform well at these sessions to get a potential call up to the current Development Squad system. Prior to the game Seán Kelly (Performance GDA) took the players through the GAA 15 Injury Prevention Warm-up. We would invite all GAA Youth Club/School/Development Squad coaches to attend the next session to help coaches learn how to implement this warm-up with their own players. There was a hugh appetite amongst the players last night and there will be follow up sessions for these and the remainder of all our Kilkenny Clubs. Thanks to the clubs who passed on details and to the parents who took time out of their busy schedule to give their youths an extra opportunity to play in the exciting game.
