Kilmacow GAA club could win €10,000 worth of Chadwicks’ products in Kit Out Competition
A public vote will decide which of three Leinster clubs will win €10,000 worth of Chadwicks’ products to revamp their club’s facilities
Kilmacow GAA club has been named as the Kilkenny county winner in the Chadwicks Kit Out Competition. The club picked up €1000 worth of Chadwicks products for being one of 12 county winners and will now compete against two other Leinster clubs for the overall prize of €10,000 worth of Chadwicks products.
The competition which has been running all summer offered GAA clubs across Leinster the chance to win over €20,000 worth of Chadwicks’ product to develop their club facilities.
The Chadwicks Kit Out judging panel comprised of Kilkenny legend Tommy Walsh, his fellow Chadwicks Brand Ambassadors Eamonn Dillon (Dublin) and Collette Dormer (Kilkenny) as well as Chadwicks Group Finance Director, Brian Conneely and Chairperson of Leinster GAA Infrastructure Committee, PJ Kelly. The panel deliberated over the hundreds of entries that came in from across the province over June and July. They were particularly struck by Kilmacow GAA club’s commitment to Gaelic football as well as hurling and camogie and the club’s central role in the community. The club is at the heart the village and has worked hard in recent years to raise significant sums of money for some worthy charitable causes.
Shane Gaule from Kilmacow GAA who wrote the winning submission said; “The Chadwicks Kit Out Competition prize of €10,000 worth of products from Chadwicks would make an incredible difference to our club as we look to improve our facilities in order to maintain player development and cater for every child that wishes to participate in GAA activities in our community. The Chadwicks Kit Out Competition is uniquely suitable to the type of work we are currently completing. We have club dressing rooms which are shared with other local community clubs and the possibility of upgrading these dressing rooms presents a great opportunity to positively impact our entire parish. We would hope that the people of Kilkenny would really get behind us in this competition and get on to Balls.ie where they can vote for the winning club.”
Chadwicks Group Marketing & Development Director Tara Brennan added; “Congratulations to everyone at Kilmacow GAA for being selected as one of the three finalists in the Chadwicks Kit Out competition. In total 237 clubs entered the competition and the calibre of submissions was extremely high. It was a very tough call for our judging panel to decide on the winner for each county and even more so to select the finalists who will now face a public vote to decide the overall winner.”
Kilmacow GAA have submitted a video outlining the role of the club in the community and how they would use the prize to develop their facilities. The other two finalists Kilcormac/Killoughey from Offaly and Park/Ratheniska from Laois also submitted videos and the public will now vote on the club they would like to win the overall prize.
