Message from Down GAA Secretary:
Firstly, on behalf of Down GAA can I extend a warm welcome to all who will be attending the All Ireland Senior Club Hurling Semi Final on Sunday in Pairc Esler. We are delighted that Pairc Esler has been chosen as the venue for the game and we hope that your visit to our Ground will be an enjoyable Experience.
To help you in your journey to Newry, I am attaching here a Map of Newry Car Parks all within walking distance of the Ground. We would be conscious that post match in and around Pairc Esler there can be a buildup of traffic and we would thus encourage patrons attending the game to avail of City Centre Car Parking.
Parking is available Free for Match Day Patrons in both of our City Shopping Centre’s the Quays and the Buttercrane. To avail of this offer, all patrons must do is produce their Match Programme or Match Ticket at the Barrier on their return and they will avail of free exit. The Quays and the Buttercrane are only a 10-minute walk from the Ground and this will potentially save you a longer delay trying to get away from the Ground. There is also then the opportunity in both Centre’s to Shop and Dine either pre- or post-Match.
Car Parking is also available in the Albert Basin Car Park on Dublin Bridge which is an area facing both Shopping Centre’s. The Canal Court Hotel in Newry is also offering special discount for patrons wishing to dine before or after the games and patrons should keep an eye on their website for details of special offers.
The Area around Pairc Esler is a residential area and we would ask all visitors to respect our residents and to cooperate with stewards in regard to Match Day Parking.
Closer to the Ground there is ample parking in the Greenbank Industrial Estate, whilst the Official Car Park is located at the ABP Site.
Within Pairc Esler there are shop facilities where Tea/Coffee etc. can be purchased, there are also toilets with Baby Changing Facilities within the Covered Stand.
