My name is Niall and I play for Galmoy GAA Club. My club means so much to me as my family are always involved in club activities. This year would be my last year U-14, but unfortunately we haven’t got to play yet. I was really enjoying all the sessions with the Development Squad before lockdown. At juvenile level we are amalgamated with Windgap and we had a super year in 2017, when we won our Féile All Ireland, as well as the Roinn B Championship and League Finals. I got to play during the second half of the league final against TullogherRosbercon and I was thrilled. We had a super night when Richie Hogan presented us with our medals.
Last year we had a great year, training every Wednesday night in St Kieran’s College. Thanks to Fr Dermot Ryan for giving us permission to use St Kieran’s pitches. It’s disappointing not to meet up with all the other players but hopefully we will soon be back training. My Dad has made up a pitch with big goals in one of our fields at home and I play there every day with my brothers, Conor & Billy and my sister Niamh. Dad is also after building a weights room for us at home. During the winter, I also play Handball and Racquetball in our Galmoy Sports Pavilion where we get to play loads in all the different leagues. The Club Auction is always a great occasion in Galmoy as my whole family get involved in the weeks beforehand and it raises alot of money for our club every year.My favourite player is T J Reid.
