My name is Jack and I am 12 years old and I play for The Rower Inistioge GAA Club. I play for the U13’s and the U15’s.
What my Club Means to Me:
My club means the world to me. If I was given the choice between club and county I would definitely choose my club.
When I put on my club jersey my body explodes with excitement and pride. Not only does my club develop me as a player, it develops me as a person too.
My club and teammates are always there for me through the good and bad times. We are like one big family. My club has helped me to make friends and has taught me that if I am to play for Kilkenny I must be dedicated.
I practice and practice every day to try to become a better hurler.
My Favourite Club Match:
My favourite club match was the 2014 Intermediate Club All Ireland in Croke Park. The Rower Inistioge beat Kilnadeema Leitrim in the final.
I was 5 at the time and I remember walking to my seat in Croke Park with my Rower Inistioge jersey that was way too big for me. We won 1-16 to 1-9.
My best hurling memory was when we won the Martin Codd Tournament (Wexford) in 2019 with the U11’s. We were very close the previous 2 years but came up short. We were very motivated to win last year and it was the greatest moment of my life when we finally got our hands on that cup, especially when I won it with my younger brother Oisin by my side. My team mates and all of our supporters went mental celebrating. It is the best feeling in the world to win something with your club, all my family, supporters and team mates celebrating.
I cannot wait to get back hurling with my club.
Thank you The Rower Inistioge GAA Club, you’re the best..!!!
