O’Loughlin Gaels and Shamrocks Ballyhale will contest the St Canice’s Credit Union senior hurling final for 2021 following their respective wins in the semi-finals on Sunday. O’Loughlin Gaels overcame a stern test from Tullaroan eventually running out 1-18 to 0-18 winners, while Shamrocks Ballyhale overcame James Stephens on a score line of 2-20 to 1-17. The final is down for decision on Sunday Nov 7th.
Meanwhile on Saturday in the Michael Lyng Motors Huyndai Intermediate Relegation semi-finals, Young Irelands and John Lockes lost their respective games and will now contest the final with the loser dropping to junior for the 2022 campaign.
Looking forward to next weekend, the JJ Kavanagh & Sons Junior S/F’s will be played in UPMC Nowlan Park on Saturday with Tullogher Rosbercon and James Stephens fighting it out at 1.15pm while Slieverue and Mooncoin will face each other at 3.15pm. In the St Canice’s Credit Union senior relegation final also on Saturday in Clara at 1.30pm the Rower Inistioge and Erins Own will go to battle to retain their senior status for 2022.
On Sunday attention will turn back to UPMC Nowlan Park where the Fenians and St Lachtain’s will contest the first Michael Lyng Motors Hyundai Intermeidate semi-final at 12.15pm, while Thomastown and Glenmore will do battle at 2.15pm.
