Kilkenny’s first outing in the Electric Ireland Leinster MHC ended in a 2-17 to 2-12 victory over Wexford at a sun soaked Bellefield, Enniscorthy on Saturday. Niall Bergin’s charges got off to a slow start and found themselves 2-3 to 0-1 down after 7 minutes but with 13 minutes on the clock the scoreboard read 2-3 a piece, a remarkable 6 minutes of action from the Kilkenny lads. From then on it was a tit for tat battle throughout the half, both sides entered the dressing room 2-7 each.
On the restart a strong Kilkenny start proved crucial and from there the visitors held the lead throughout, eventually running out 2-17 to 2-12 winners. Dublin are next up on Saturday April 16th in UPMC Nowlan Park at 12pm.
