2022 Kilkenny Junior Board Convention

The 2022 Kilkenny Junior Board Convention took place at UPMC Nowlan Park on Monday night last, 28th November.  

Chairman John Lacey welcomed everyone to the first in-person Convention since 2019.  Secretary Pat Dunphy presented a comprehensive Secretary’s report, followed by a review of the accounts by Treasurer Paul Kavanagh.  In the Chairman’s address, John shared his thoughts on the past year and extended his thanks to everyone involved in the Junior Board activities and competitions throughout the year, in particular:

• Clubs
• Referees and match officials
• The media
• The County Board
• The Junior Board Officers and CCC

Representatives of the County Board congratulated the Junior Board on a successful year and thanked, in particular, John Lacey and Paul Kavanagh for their contributions over the past five years as their terms as Chairman and Treasurer, respectively, come to an end. 

John Lacey, Pat Dunphy, Paul Kavanagh and the County Board representatives all paid tribute to Ned Buggy whose 5-year term as Vice Chairman also came to an end.

The following officers were elected for 2023:

Incoming Chair, Paddy Cooney, addressed the meeting.  He thanked Cloneen GAA Club for nominating him and is looking forward to working with everyone in his role as Junior Board Chairperson.
