Kilkenny’s 2023 Walsh Cup campaign came to an end in Wexford last Saturday evening, 21st January. A large crowd was in attendance for the official turning on of the new lights in Chadwicks Wexford Park and a goal in stoppage time gave Wexford the victory, much to the delight of the home crowd. FT Wexford 1-25, Kilkenny 2-18.
A win for Offaly over Laois in their final round ensured Wexford would advance to the Walsh Cup Final, which will now double up with the sides’ Allianz League fixture in Wexford Park on the 4th February.
