Kilkenny’s trip to Laois Hire O’Moore Park proved successful today with a 0-34 to 1-18 win over Laois. Kilkenny set the tone early in the first half and went into the break with a 14-point lead – despite an early Laois goal in the opening 30 seconds of the second half, Kilkenny finished out the game with a comfortable margin.
Today was also a memorable occasion for the three Murphy brothers from Glenmore as Alan and Shane joined Eoin on the field of play in the second half, putting them in the company of such great sporting families as the Doyles of Mooncoin, the Hendersons of Johnstown and the Fennellys of Ballyhale.
