In the month of January, Kilkenny GAA, in association with An Garda Síochána and Kilkenny GAA Clubs, organised five health and wellness evenings. These were hosted by St Martins/Muckalee GFC, Mooncoin, Clara, Dunnamaggin and Blacks and Whites GAA clubs. Conor Harris, from Kildare, was the guest speaker at each event and Kenneth Egan also attended the night in Clara. The Gardaí were also present every night and the two main speakers were Sergeant Peter McConnon, Crime Prevention Officer and Inspector Paul Donohoe, Road Policing. Many more Gardaí from local stations were also in attendance. Over 350 people in total attended the evenings with a total of 24 clubs in Kilkenny being represented as well as people from the local communities. We also had attendees from Waterford, Laois and Tipperary. Special thanks to all who attended and to the clubs who hosted the evenings. Also to our speakers who have given a huge amount of knowledge of their own experiences.
