Kilkenny booked their place in the Electric Ireland Leinster Minor Hurling Championship Final following their victory over Wexford in UPMC Nowlan Park on Monday, 1st May. A goal from Brian Moore just at the half time mark gave Kilkenny a comfortable six-point margin going into the second half, which they needed as Wexford brought it back to within a point with 15 minutes remaining. However, the home side finished strong, closing out the game and advancing to the Leinster Final on a 1-18 to 0-17 scoreline.
