Kilkenny got off to a winning start in the 2024 Dioralyte Walsh Cup, following a 5-22 to 0-9 victory over Carlow in frosty conditions in Netwatch Cullen Park last night.
For the three Blanchfield brothers from Bennettsbridge, the game was a memorable occasion as David, Kevin and Liam lined out together in the black & amber, putting them in the company of such great sporting families as the Doyles of Mooncoin, the Hendersons of Johnstown, the Fennellys of Ballyhale and, more recently, the Murphys of Glenmore.
