Nothing could separate the sides in UPMC Nowlan Park yesterday as Kilkenny’s Allianz League opening round tie v. Wexford ended in a draw. In a dramatic finish with Billy Drennan netting a penalty just on the 70th minute to put Kilkenny ahead, Wexford responded with a goal from Cian Byrne moments later to level the sides.
During the half time break, the Kilkenny Supporters Club presented cheques in the sum of €500 each to the four clubs that represented Kilkenny in the Club All-Ireland Finals – Dicksboro GAA & Camogie, Tullogher Rosbercon, Thomastown and O’Loughlin Gaels.
