Kilkenny came up short in the much anticipated Leinster semifinal on Wednesday last as reigning Leinster U20 Champions, Offaly, ran out 2-17 to 2-16 winners. In a front of a sizeable crowd in Glenisk O’Connor Park, it came down to the wire when a Harry Shine free found the back of the net in the 61st minute to reduce Offaly’s lead to a point but as the clock ran down, Kilkenny ran out of time to launch another attack.
