Kilkenny Minor Footballers lost out to Wicklow 1-10 to 0-3 at a windswept SETU Carlow in the Leinster League plate final last week.
Kilkenny were in a good position come half time as they trailed 0-6 to 0-2.
A number of missed chances proved crucial as Wicklow took the honours with the final 1-2 in the game late on
Kilkenny now begin their Leinster campaign at home next Tuesday evening v Carlow.
