The Michael Lyng Motors Hyundai Intermediate and JJ Kavanagh Junior Hurling competitions moved firmly into championship territory last weekend, with silverware decided and the next stages of the knockout competitions taking shape.
In the Michael Lyng Motors Hyundai Intermediate Hurling League, James Stephens claimed the League title, while Lisdowney were crowned Shield winners. Congratulations to James Stephens and Lisdowney.
Attention then turned to the championship, with the quarter-final draw producing four intriguing ties which will take place next weekend:
- James Stephens v Barrow Rangers
- Rower Inistioge v St Lachtain’s
- Dunnamaggin v Tullogher Rosbercon
- Lisdowney v Young Irelands
There was also silverware up for grabs in the JJ Kavanagh Premier Junior Hurling League, where Emeralds secured the League title and Piltown took the Shield honours. Congratulations to Emeralds and Piltown.
The Premier Junior Championship continued with the Round 2 draw pairing Kilmacow with Conahy Shamrocks and Graignamanagh with Windgap.
The JJ Kavanagh Junior Section B Championship has reached the semi-final stage, with Lisdowney facing Dicksboro and O’Loughlin Gaels taking on Erin’s Own.
All eight championship ties will take place next weekend, setting the scene for another busy weekend of knockout hurling.
