Another important weekend of club hurling has concluded, with county final places secured, silverware decided and senior status retained as the Kilkenny championships move towards their closing stages.
Intermediate County Final Pairing Confirmed
The lineup for the Michael Lyng Motors Hyundai Intermediate Hurling Championship County Final is confirmed following Sunday’s semi-final double-header at UPMC Nowlan Park.
Rower Inistioge produced an impressive performance to overcome Lisdowney by 4-20 to 0-23 in the opening semi-final.
James Stephens then secured the second final place with a 1-18 to 1-7 victory over Tullogher Rosbercon.
Rower Inistioge and James Stephens will now go head-to-head in the County Final in two weeks’ time, with the Intermediate title and a place in the Senior ranks for 2027 at stake.
Danesfort Retain Senior Status
Danesfort will remain in the Senior grade for 2027 following a 0-19 to 0-16 victory over Erin’s Own in Saturday’s St Canice’s Credit Union Senior Hurling Championship Relegation Final at Páirc Lachtain.
Three points separated the sides at the finish as Danesfort secured the victory they needed to retain their Senior status.
O’Loughlin Gaels Crowned JJ Kavanagh Junior Section B Champions
O’Loughlin Gaels were crowned JJ Kavanagh Junior Section B Hurling Champions following a 4-16 to 1-15 victory over Dicksboro at Páirc Shéamuis Stíopháin on Saturday.
As well as securing the Section B title, the victory sees O’Loughlin Gaels advance to the semi-finals of the Premier Junior Hurling Championship, where they will face Graignamanagh.
