Shamrocks Ballyhale were crowned 2026 St Canice’s Credit Union Senior Hurling County Champions following their victory over Tullaroan at UPMC Nowlan Park on Sunday, 25th October.
The victory secured a remarkable 22nd Senior County Championship title for Shamrocks Ballyhale, further strengthening their position at the top of the Kilkenny senior hurling roll of honour.
It completes an impressive season for Shamrocks Ballyhale, who also claimed the Senior Hurling League title earlier this year.
The occasion also marked the presentation of the new Walsh Cup for the first time, with Shamrocks Ballyhale becoming the first club to lift the newly commissioned trophy.
Our thanks to championship sponsors St Canice’s Credit Union for their continued support of Kilkenny club hurling.

Kilkenny’s All-Ireland Winning Captains Honoured
There was a special presentation at half-time as Kilkenny GAA paid tribute to the county’s All-Ireland Senior Hurling winning captains from 1963 onwards.
The presentation brought together some of the great names of Kilkenny hurling, recognising the men who had the honour of captaining their county to All-Ireland glory and lifting the Liam MacCarthy Cup. Our thanks to the Springhill Hotel for their sponsorship.
