Kilkenny Intermediate hurling team manager Pat Hoban has announced his attention to step down from his position. Pat, who has held the position since 2007, had a most successful tenure winning four Leinster titles (2008-2011) and two All Ireland titles (2008 and 2010). The Mullinavat clubman’s successes are all the more admirable as they came at a grade that is not always the easiest to manage with many of his players involved with county under 21 and senior squads.Apart from a number of his Intermediate players going on to senior success with Kilkenny Pat always saw the competition as an opportunity for junior and intermediate players to represent their county and win Leinster and All Ireland medals. Pat Hoban’s enthusiasm and ability in the position ensured he has been the most successful Manager Kilkenny has had at this grade.
