A mainly experimental Kilkenny side defeated Offaly by 6-25 to 1-15 in a game played to mark the official opening of Páirc Prionsias, in Clara County Offalyon Sunday 21st May. Kilkenny were in control throughout and two goals in the space of as many minutes from Thomas Breen saw Kilkenny lead by 2-10 to eight minutes before the interval. Another goal from T. J. Reid meant that by the break the difference was 3-13 to 0-6 and Kilkenny availed of the opportunity to introduce a number of Under 21 players during the second half. The Kilkenny team and scorers-
