In 2013, Ireland will hold its biggest ever tourism initiative – The Gathering Ireland 2013 and we want Kilkenny to be a part of it.
The Gathering Ireland is about the people of Ireland inviting anyone with a connection to Ireland to come and visit. It’s a people’s project. It’s about you, your family, your neighbours, your sports club, your college, your place of work – in fact, whatever community or group you belong to – planning special events in 2013 that will highlight what is great about your town and county.
To support people who wish to organise a Gathering in Kilkenny, a number of community meetings will be held in the coming weeks. This week Community Meetings will take place the Newpark Hotel on Monday September 24th and on Tuesday September 25th in Abbey Community College Ferrybank with Darren Holden of the High Kings. Both meetings will commence at 7pm and will give everyone an opportunity to hear what it’s all about and how they can get involved. Please invite anyone you think would be interested in attending. All are welcome.
