Kilkenny claimed a six point victory over near neighbours Laois in their opening game of the Walsh Cup on Sunday.  A busy John Lockes Park was treated to a competitive game but Kilkenny finished the stronger sealing the 1-27 to 0-24 win.  Kilkenny head to Wexford on Saturday next for a 2pm throw-in against the hosts.
