Kilkenny County Board will host Scór na nÓg (U17) on Thursday November 13th at 8pm in Langtons Set Theatre.   All clubs are asked to participate and enter acts in the following competitions:  Set Dancing, Ceili Dancing, Recitation/Storytelling, Ballad Group Singing, Instrumental Music and Solo Signing.   The closing date for applications will be Thursday November 6th.

Scór is a GAA competition designed to bring together the rivalry of Gaelic Games with the social/fun element of Ireland’s traditional past-times.   It was established in 1969 with the aim of promoting these traditional past-times in the winter months, offering club members the chance to come together in a traditional environment.

The participation rate of Kilkenny clubs in Scór has fallen to extremely low levels in recent times and we strongly encourage clubs to actively seek out talent to represent their club on the night.   A new committee was established by the County Board to aid the development of Scór and we will be contacting clubs in the run up to this county final.   Applications can be returned to this email address ‘irishculturalofficer.kilkenny@gaa.ie‘ or to the postal address below as soon as possible.

We would appreciate your assistance with this matter.Le Buíochas,Oifigeach na gaeilge Cill Chainnigh,Co Kilkenny
