In a competitive encounter, Kilkenny overcame Kildare in the Walsh Cup Shield Final last Sunday at John Locke Park. Kildare led at the break, but a strong final-quarter performance from Kilkenny saw them outscore their opponents by 0-9 to 0-2, securing victory on a final scoreline of 1-20 to 2-13.
