The Kilkenny underage footballers travelled to Ballylanders GAA Club last night for their opening outing in the Leinster Development League against Limerick, with 39 players making the trip by bus on what was a testing night for a game.
Despite the conditions, it was played in a great, non-stop competitive spirit by both sides throughout. This Limerick side are proven underage performers too, having won the U16 O’Donovan Shield in 2025.
While Limerick prevailed in the second half, there were plenty of positives for this young group on Kilkenny’s first participation in the competition.
The aim for Kilkenny is to secure more matches at this standard, giving our players meaningful game-time to progress and develop, and helping build towards the future of our adult inter-county panel.
