James Stephens are the 2026 Michael Lyng Motors Hyundai Intermediate Hurling Champions following their victory over Rower Inistioge in Sunday’s County Final at UPMC Nowlan Park.
The city club capped off an impressive championship campaign by claiming the county title and securing their return to the senior ranks for 2027.
Having already captured the Intermediate League title earlier in the season, James Stephens carried that form into the championship knockout stages, overcoming Tullogher Rosbercon in the semi-final before facing Rower Inistioge in Sunday’s decider.
The final brought together two clubs with a long history in Kilkenny hurling, 50 years after they last contested a County Final against each other at senior level in 1976.
Thank you to Michael Lyng Motors Hyundai for their continued sponsorship and valued support of the Intermediate Hurling Championship.
