all describe a typical day at the Lisdowney hurling 7’s.
For all you hurling enthusiasts remember the dates for this year’s 36th Lisdowney Windfarm 7’s tournament on – Saturday 22nd July and Saturday 29th July with finals on Saturday 5th August. 32 teams with a panel of 10 under 13 year olds = 320 players will participate in this competition. In its 36th year the Sweeney Cup is one of the most sought after trophies in under age hurling. Teams from Kilkenny, Tipperary, Clare, Kildare, Laois and Dublin will fight it out in this highly competitive competition.
Great names … Tommy Walsh, Henry Shefflin, TJ Reid, Richie Hogan, Jackie Tyrrell are just some of the well-known heroes that have participated in this event. This tournament is a real opportunity to see and study the future of not just Kilkenny hurling but also that of neighbouring counties and further afield.
For a feast of hurling…….see you at the 36th Lisdowney Windfarm 7’s tournament…on 22nd July, 29th July and the finals will take place on 5th August.
